We began growing gourmet hardneck garlic over 25 years ago. At that time, we only grew enough for our consumption. Our love of this variety led us to start propagating it in 2000. After our first year of propagating, we had approx. 30 bulbs. Soon thereafter, family, friends and neighbors began requesting some of our garlic for themselves. From there, it’s been an annual process of planting, harvesting, cleaning, drying, curing and replanting so that we could establish a seed bank. We currently have over 35,000 plants in the ground and look forward to this year's harvest.
All of our garlic is naturally grown. We do not use pesticides or herbicides. We plant and harvest all of our garlic by hand. This variety cannot be farmed mechanically.
Our garlic farm is located in Livingston County and on our other property located in Presque Isle County.
